The 4 Course Phases
Progressively build your driving skills phase by phase with our expert team.
Foundations & Learner's Permit
Phase 1 is mandatory to obtain your learner's permit. You can take these modules in any order. However, Module 5 (Evaluation) is only accessible once all prior modules are completed.
Building Confidence
Phase 2 combines 2 online theory modules and 4 individual in-car road driving sessions under the supervision of a certified Safa instructor.
Skills Development
Phase 3 consists of 3 online theory modules and 6 individual in-car road sessions targeting complex maneuvers and lane changes.
Mastery & Road Test Preparation
Phase 4 contains 2 online theory modules and 2 individual in-car road lessons. It includes co-driving/observation tasks between two Safa students to critique skill development. Completion of lesson 15 is required to obtain your final certificate.
SAAQ Exams & Access
Knowledge Test: If you have held your learner's permit for at least 10 months, you are eligible to book your knowledge exam with the SAAQ online or by phone.
Road Test: You can book your road test immediately after passing the knowledge test. Make sure you complete your RSEP course and bring your official Safa certificate, a valid learner's permit, and pass the vision test on-site.
